Researchers investigate whether fish oil including omega-3 and vitamin D can reduce the risk of COVID-19
Researchers at Oslo University Hospital are conducting a study with 70 000 participants to investigate whether a daily consumption of fish oil including omega-3 and vitamin D can reduce the occurrence of COVID-19 (1, 2).
The study is based on epidemiological data from Norway indicating that people who consume fish oil have a reduced risk of COVID-19 infection and reduced risk of severe illness when affected by COVID-19 compared to those who do not.
Smartfish RemuneTM which contains high amounts of omega-3 and vitamin D is currently being studied in an international Public-Private Consortium investigating risk factors for developing lung damage and chronic complaints after COVID-19: Press release.
